CMA Decision No. 4/R of 2014 · UAE Federal
Amends certain fees due to the Authority in relation to the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange.
Board Decision No. 4 of 2014 reset the fees and the trading commission that the Securities and Commodities Authority (now the CMA) collects in connection with the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange, by amending Decision No. 158/R of 2005 on fees due to the Authority on that exchange. The CMA publishes it as a scanned Arabic text. It was issued on 13 January 2014 after Board approval on 26 December 2013 and coordination with the exchange, and applied from 1 April 2014 (Article 3).
Article 1 replaces Article 2 of Decision 158/R of 2005. The Authority collects from brokers on the exchange: a licence application fee of AED 2,000; a registration fee of AED 15,000; a registration renewal fee of AED 7,500; a deregistration fee of AED 1,000; and a re-registration fee of AED 15,000.
Article 2 replaces Article 3: a trading commission of 11.025 fils (3 US cents) on each sale or purchase contract, a total of 22.05 fils for each transaction executed on the market.
What happened next: Decision No. 14/R of 2015 replaced Article 3 again, keeping 11.025 fils for contracts of AED 36,750 (USD 10,000) or more and introducing 2.205 fils for smaller contracts. The principal instrument, Decision 158/R of 2005, is not in this library.
Status: the index records the status as unknown. We found no later change to the broker fees in Article 1, but the Authority's general technical service fees are now set by Decision No. 32/Chairman of 2018 as amended, and the current fee for a given service should be checked against that table.
Brokers on the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange licensed or registered with the Authority, and the exchange, which collects the trading commission on transactions executed on it.
